A beautiful and scarce French Travel poster illustrating Salies-de-Bearn. The name comes from its naturally occurring saline water. During the expanded, pre-liberation occupation of France by Nazi Germany, Salies was on the border between the occupied zone and the free zone.

The Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans et du Midi, often abbreviated as PO-Midi, was a French railway company created in 1934 by merging the Paris-Orléans Railway Company and the Midi Railway Company.

René Roussel (27 July 1885 – 10 January 1962) was a French painter, designer, and illustrator. He is best known for his advertising posters and drawings. In the 1930s, Roussel focused on restoration and decoration work at the Palais des Trianons and the Queen's Hamlet at Versailles, as well as interior design for private residences.
